Illustration and layout design for Farooq’s “The Truth” album. Really awesome band to work with, Daniel(vocals) was open to artistic freedom so he basically handed me the concept and it was a fun and exciting execution.
This is the first time my album artwork makes it to print so it’s been a learning process for me too. I was just glad and honored to have been able to do this for Farooq.

Venus is a witch who ran from villagers wanting to set her on fire. In the forest she seeks poisonous oleanders in order to consume to commit suicide, but they have no effect on her as she’ll discover. After waiting numerous hours, realizing the oleanders have no effect on her, Venus attempts to turn into a bird to fly away. Her spell fails, only making her bones light and brittle like those of a bird.
Disabled from standing, Venus decides to let the birds carry her away, the only way possible. She allows only the most beautiful birds to eat her…and decapitates the rest.
